2 years after harold s mom graduated, the williamstown theater festival put on a production of the golden boy starring a then as yet unknown actor named dylan mcdermott who would play pick up basketball with us almost every day
he asked my name one time so i asked his
he said very clearly " dylan [ something ] "
he said it like i should remember it and i did
except for the remembering part
thought he said " macgillivary " he looked very similar to peter macgillivary who had just become a successful photographer with the north adams transcript and the williamstown advocate
he also mentioned he was with the wtf so in 2012 I googled to see if dylan was dylan m and voila

paul newman s wife joanne woodward was directing the golden boy that year and they built a house out on hancock road almost across from where i was working as a laborer with dave who was doing carpentry for bob who was putting an addition on his farm house
you can just barely see the solar panel on the addition
bob had connected the solar panel to a water heater which not only heated a hot tub inside the sunporch addition, but also heated the floor of the sunporch by pumping solar hot water through pvc pipes lain in the cement floor
the newman s house looked pretty normal except for a really nice segmented arc window over what I had thought was the front door at the time it was 2 houses west of 720 hancock road on the south side
